Tech Internet SDSL is a self-install product. Choose between Zyxel Prestige 792H Router or Cisco 878 routers, and we can also supply suitable, approved pre-configured equipment if required.
Speed - The service operates at equal bandwidth – at either 1Mbps or 2Mbps – for upstream and downstream traffic
Contention - The service has two contention options uncontended (i.e. 1:1) or 5:1
Installation - The Tech Internet SDSL service requires the installation of a dedicated copper connection by a BT engineer. A sole point of service will be provided that does not require a microfilter or support PSTN telephone calls. Customers are required to install and connect a router with an appropriate SDSL modem to use the service. Provision of the service is subject to a BT survey on line length and quality
Email - SMTP mail is the standard for all customers (with NAT customers router configuration allows bi-directional SMTP traffic). Customers with requirements for POP3 mail can purchase one of our web hosting services
Domain Names - A domain name is supplied with the service and includes mail and web forwarding. These domain names are subject to suitable availability
IP address assignment - Tech internet SDSL offers further flexibility through a choice of NAT configuration with one static IP address, or non-NAT configuration with different sized static IP blocks.
